POP Culture

I am going to begin this blog by first talking about my first job that I actually enjoyed. I used to work at any music lovers candy store. Yes it was a record outlet. We sold everything from vintage records, cassette tapes, band memorabilia, cd's and dvd's. It was awesome. We did not fortunately have to watch a video that described how we were going to change the lives of certain people. But we did get a speech about how knowing all the different genres of music are related to such a person. I feel I was lucky b/c the record store I worked in was not a big corporation, it was locally owned. So I cannot relate to the blasphemy AO Scott relates to from working at blockbuster.
The entertainment industry controls the power of technology and how we receive it. There is a scene in the movie Chain Reaction and Keanu Reeves is about to send a bunch of info to the FBI and then Morgan Freeman walks in on him and says to him the world is not ready we can only release to them at a certain pace. And by the things that I have seen in the past five have come very fast.
